In a statement signed by NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party noted that Adwoa Safo’s remarks during an interview on JoyNews’ The Pulse violated the party’s directives.

The NPP leadership had previously issued a directive instructing members to refrain from discussing internal party affairs in a manner that could foster negativity, disaffection, or unrest. Adwoa Safo’s comments were seen as a direct contravention of this order, prompting the party to take disciplinary action.

The party stated that as a former MP, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, Adwoa Safo was expected to uphold discipline, loyalty, and unity, which are fundamental principles of the NPP.

Additionally, the statement referenced Article 3(5) of the NPP Constitution, which mandates members to promote and defend the party’s good name. The party believes that her media engagements undermined unity and hindered efforts to rebuild after their 2024 electoral loss.

With her case now before the National Disciplinary Committee, further actions, including sanctions or possible suspension, could be determined based on her response to the allegations.

This development signals the NPP’s efforts to enforce discipline within its ranks as it seeks to reorganize ahead of future elections.
